For my projector mapping project, I have a general idea of what I want to complete, but I need to finalize it more specifically. I have a lot of footage from aquariums I’ve visited over the last few years, and I think it would be really cool to combine and edit that footage for this project. For the physical part, I’m thinking of creating windows, sort of like there would be in a submarine, and then putting the video of fish and sharks in the ‘windows.’ To make it more three dimensional I am considering using some kind of glass or plastic to create a warped bubble effect over the windows. I thought about potentially buying or finding some plastic bowls to achieve that effect. I also thought about using literal fish bowls, and glass vases to project my images instead, or possibly doing both. I would want to have some height variation in my bowls, so I would need to find stands or stools to put them on, and potentially fabric or other covers for the stands. To make it more interesting than just my aquatic videos, I’m considering looking for some other videos I could use to shock viewers, like maybe videos of sea monsters or eyes looking through the glass. I can make the outside of the windows using paper and foil, or even duct tape depending on what works best. I am not sure what the best method will be for hanging the windows, but I’m potentially going to try wall putty so that it will be temporary, or maybe another method that has no risk of leaving marks on the walls.
