I’m really proud of how my projection mapping came out. Considering I had never used VDMX, madmapper, or a projector before I’m proud of my end result. Having gotten more practice there are definitely some things that I would have improved upon too. If I had more time, I think I would have made more jars. I also think I would have benefitted from making smaller jars too. I liked my concept of the water spilling out, but I think I could have executed it a little better too. I struggled a lot with accurately mapping the shapes of my jars because they were not symmetrical or round enough, making my projections look a little bit less clean than I had wanted. Overall, I’m happy with my work, especially after our last critique since it seemed as though most of the class understood the message I had been trying to convey. I also think I could have been more selective with my videos or chosen ones that were more distinct from each other. In my perspective, it feels like it is a little hard to tell what the videos actually were, especially after I edited them and filtered them, so if I could work further on my project, I would probably spend a bit more time preparing my media before projecting it. I worked really hard to build my jars, but I think it would have looked better and been more time efficient if I had thrifted containers or used other supplies other than cardboard and duct tape. Regardless, I still learned a lot and I think the art show turned out really well!
