My animation video was definitely the most challenging but most fulfilling project in class so far. When I decided to use animate cc for all of the animation I didn’t realize how much time and effort would really be put into the video. I’m glad I simplified my original animation as I had first planned to animate my dad as well as my dog, but knowing there would be too many variables for my first animation, I’m glad I removed that part. The first challenge I faced was definitely the learning curve associated with using new software. I struggled a lot with the frames and logistics at first. After a while though, I got the hang of it and the animation became far more enjoyable. The biggest difficulty for me was just splitting up the project well enough. I think if I had started sooner I would have had enough time to get everything done without feeling burnout. Because I was working for so many hours the process began to feel mundane and I struggled to stay constant in the drawings. Another thing I would have done differently is accounting for time to put all the elements together. I think it would have been more smooth in the audio and transitions if I took the time to get comfortable editing in premier and if I spent longer editing the end result. My video was far from perfect but I learned alot and I feel much more confident in my animation and editing skills after this project. I know the next animation I do will be much more successful now that I’m more familiar with everything, but I’m proud of what I accomplished in this one.
